How to photograph a Cookie Monster Cupcake

The Setup

Standard camera with 80 - 200 mm lens.(Wish I had prime lens 35 mm or 50 mm 1.4).Tripod,
3 sec timer mode.
Christmas Lights
M&M's & Gummy Fruits
And a Real funky Cup cake
              1. A Funky cup cake
2.   Christmas Lights for back lighting
3.   Black cloth / M&M's / Gummy Fruits ,colors to match back lighting.
Key light coming from lounge windows from the left / front Direction.
4.   Subject platform is 2.5 m from the back light source.and 2.5 m from the camera.
The camera is positioned slightly lower than platform.

5.   In camera set up 100 ISO f/45 1/ 20'' - Check out lights 2.5 m from the subject.
All looks good from here... 

6.   Set depth of field & frame
7.  Build in the foreground / Check Elevation & Symmetry.
8.  Take a wide angle view... look at the negative space to the right.
& uneven color distribution below the cookie mouth & right front fore ground.
9. Center and come in tight, had no reflector to bounce light in from the right.all good.
10. Final In Camera shot.
11.  Tight crop ... soft focus effect.with Picasa photo editing software.
12.   The money shot.... all up 97% all in camera. Natural lighting for the subject.
Aperture Priority key goal.
Setup to shoot completion 20 minutes. 36 total frames shot.
Well worth the wait...
